CPLP NETWORK OF BIOSPHERE RESERVES.
The CPLP Network of Biosphere Reserves provides a privileged and permanent space for dialog, cooperation, and affirmation for the Portuguese-speaking countries in decisive sectors such as conservation-based development and sustainable use of natural resources.
This Network guarantees a continuous exchange of experiences and cooperation on nature and biodiversity conservation, research, logistical support, and socio-economic development, within the framework of UNESCO's MAB Program and, in a broader sense, in line with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The cooperation initiatives extend to other thematic and operational areas of MAB Program, such as the Conventions on Biological Diversity, the RAMSAR Convention, Climate Change, Oceans, among others.
The Lima Strategy and the Lima Action Plan for UNESCO's MAB Program established that Biosphere Reserves (BRs) are privileged spaces for cooperation in the pursuit of a different set of objectives.
